Regresar	Archivo Histórico Eduardo Guerra

En esta casa vivió con su familia Isauro Martínez, importante empresario en el ramo de los cines y teatros, que llegó a la Comarca procedente de su Zacatecas natal. Fue inaugurada en 1923. La edificación estuvo a cargo del maestro Abel Blas Cortinas.

En la parte alta del salón principal se encontraban unas pinturas de Salvador Tarazona, que fueron desmontadas por uno de los herederos de la familia Martínez. Al poco tiempo de la muerte de don Isauro (1957), fue vendida.

Después la casa albergó al periódico Noticias, fue recinto de una funeraria, sufrió un incendio, y estuvo desocupada durante mucho tiempo, hasta que en 1991 la adquirió el Republicano Ayuntamiento de Torreón y la destinó a albergar al Archivo Municipal de Torreón y al Centro Histórico Eduardo Guerra.

Sus muros son de tabique y en la fachada se observa el rodapié de piedra; las ventanas cuentan con balaustradas de cantera, así como entablamento, columnas, dinteles y pretil con balaustradas. Como típica construcción eléctrica, combina columnas con capiteles jónicos y balaustradas afrancesadas.

.In this house lived with it´s family Isauro Martínez, important businessman in the branch of the movies and theaters,  that arrived at the Region originated from Zacatecas.  It was inaugurated in 1923.  The building was in charge of the master Abel Blas Cortinas.  In the high part of the main parlor some paintings of Salvador Tarazona were found, that were dismantled by one of the heirs of the family Martínez.  To the little time of the death of Mr. Isauro (1957), was sold.  Later the house harbored to the newspaper “Noticias”, was precinct of a funeral home, suffered a fire, and was idle for a long time, until in 1991 the Republican City Hall of Torreon acquired it and destined it to harbor to the Municipal File of Torreon and to the Historic Center Eduardo Guerra.
